Aeg 8-19 Big Lagoon, Humboldt Co. Calif. - regularly
seen in 1's and 2's along Maple Creek (to at
least 1 1/2 mi. inland of mouth) where there were
[illegible] regardless of
adjacent vegetation. Also, up to 3 together on
pebbly beach of E. side of the lagoon.
Aug 28-29 Trinity River, 2 1/2 mi. N [strikethrough]Yellow Creek, 400 ft. Hum-
boldt Co. Calif. 2 seen, foraging together, along
gravel & boulder shores of river in a stretch
of rapids. Both were without breast spots;
one at least, had light buffy edgings on back
feathers.
Aug 30-31 3 seen in the same area - all three together
on both dates.
