Cogswood 1949 Randion haliseetus aug 8-19 Big Lagoon, Humboldt Co., Calif. - one or more observed occasionally over the lagoon or marsh, one over the log pond, and twice (on 16th & 17th) calling from dead spruce top near maple creek 1/2 mile inland from its lagoon. aug. 17 one seen standing on the gravel beach of the E. shore of the lagoon. Several ~~fish skele- tons with whole head + tail attached are scat- tered along this beach [= ? work of osprey].
