Rana boylii
Willow Creek, 400 ft., Humboldt Co., Calif.
aug. 29
The Trinity River 1/2 to 1 mile N. of town
here is swarming with these frogs. They
leap into the water, even the fairly swiftly
flowing parts over the rocky rapids in a side
current carrying knee-deep water. One was
collected near such a site and 1 from a tribu-
tary stream where it trickled down across
algal covered stones on the winter flood banks
of the main stream. One large tadpole,
probably of this species, was seen.
