Asaphus truei
Big Lagoon, 250', Humboldt Co., Calif.
Aug. 14 along the small boulder & log stream stream about 1/2 mile up the road from the Hammond Timber Camp toward the ridge E. of the lagoon (where Dr. Pearson's & my mammal traps were set for 2 nights)
This species is common. The larvae cling to the surface of stones in pools or in swift water & are easily caught. I collected two, one light & mottled in color (= # 27) and one almost solid black (= # 25). Dr. Pearson found a small adult here yesterday. Others of the party went back this p.m. & got several more specimens [See notes of Murray, Miller, et al]
