Wood Pewee, 2; olive-sided Flycatcher, 2; Stellar's Jay, several; Chestnut-backed Chickadee, 10+, Creeper, 1; *White -breasted Nuthatch, 2 (collected); Red-breasted Nuthatch, several; Winter Wren, 1 heard singing; Golden-crowned Kinglet, several; Hermit Warbler, 1 [4 seen in camp later in a.m.]; Western Tanager, 1?; Oregon Junco, several; Chipmunk (sp?), several; Chickaree, 1 heard. [* = see species account] Spent the rest of the a.m. & early 1/2 of p.m. skin- ning birds. I collected a ? Red Crossbill (= #6) as it came to drink at the overflow from pipe by the road here. Later on I shot another as it was perched in top of tall Douglas Fir in camp; but it lodged in branches & was not obtained. About 3:45 p.m. Yullion and I drove to School house Pasture Rock (vicinity of) and to Coyote Peak for purposes of taking pictures of the Bald Hills Country.
