The figure we point out is the
new (estimated) site of Chelleh, which
is still unexplored, but definitely
associated with the large mound system
integrated in the plain and valley areas
of the region. How much more work will
be needed to fully establish the exact
site? For now, we can say that it is a
possible candidate for Chelleh.
While we were working, we also collected
ceramic sherds from a small mound nearby
(sites 1816). (sites 1816).
Our attention was drawn to an ancient site:
the site of "Kishan" or "Kish"

MORNING: WE FOUND A NEW SITE
ONCE AGAIN IN THE AREA OF CHELLEH.
THE SITE IS LOCATED ON THE PLAIN, NEAR
A SMALL MOUND. IT APPEARS TO BE AN ANCIENT
SETTLEMENT WITH POTTERY FRAGMENTS AND OTHER
ARTIFACTS. WE WILL RETURN TO EXAMINE THIS
SITE MORE CLOSELY IN THE FUTURE.
