Field Notes Doug Bell July 8, 1987 - cont. iris-pupil. Again, the irides were greenish-yellow. All in all, good Westerns. Finally saw a & Western Gall, with black primary tips, yellow eye-ring & yellow iris. Turns out she is banded: silver-blue right leg, white- red left leg. Mated to a good Hancock-surged Gall, which was also banded: right leg red/silver & left leg red. Pair of eggs in the nest. I trapped the female of this pair. Took some doing, but caught her just before we had to get ready to leave the island (VAS 230).
