WEATHER - lifting fog, mild wind
TIDE - Low (incoming). 1.2 m of rock exposed.
On isthmus @ 9:22. Second day of video recording.
Pair 32 copulating. 20 birds incubating, 36 birds on perimeter, 8 on platform. Rape in IB roof filmed. Copulation behind pair 20 filmed. The silver/yellow & wandered thru platform - was pecked at by sitting female 31. 9:56 - Colony watching 35 birds on perimeter, 9 on platform. Filmed a rape: & w/ yellow/silver hands head tossed to &, hopped on her back. An incubating male from nest 7 zinged out and broke-up the copulation. Filmed the yellow/silver & on top of rock ad at metal hoop - he may have landed directly on top of mother & on the metal hoop (rape) also filmed an attempted rape at nest 16.
Trapped DAB 124 (& WG) off 3 egg nest. Also trapped another gull off a 3 egg nest (& WG) DAB 125. Picked up a recently dead, but fledged Black-crowned Night Heron from the recreation yard - the park rangers told me about it (DAB 126).
