78 1932 Dec. 8. Turned cold with northwest wind which brought clouds. At 8 p.m. it began to snow and snowed most of the night. Dec. 9. Very cold. Snow remained on hills and on our east porch all day. Dec. 10. Bird pool covered with ice. Cold all day. Dec. 11. Much colder. Outside hydrants froze and many plants were killed. And Assoc. (20) came to watch birds which came eagerly for food. Pool frozen. Temp about 18°. Dec. 12-15. Pool remained frozen. Cold wind blew down canyon almost continuously. Very dry. Dec. 16. Weather moderating and back. Dec. 16. Drove down to Boulder Creek; Delors from Fellon to Ben Lomond - bridge out. Everything at house O.K. Ice in bathroom. Temp had been 14° at Cress' Garage. Rain. Dec. 17. Rain. Warmer. Dec. 19. Rain. Warmer. Dec. 20. Thick fog all morning. Dec. 24, 25. Clear. Crisp. Dec. 28. Many Glaucous-winged Gulls following boat. A few white-winged Scoters. Dec. 29. Drove to Boulder Creek via Saratoga. Clear, crisp. Bould-tailed Pigeons on summit - 30-50. Bluebirds in meadow near house. Returned in evening. First break in rails pipes (see Dec. 11). Dec. 31. Returned to Boulder Creek. Clear at night. Very cold - pipes closed until 11 a.m. Jan. 1.
