Sep. 19-99 Tuesday Started in early purchasing the necessary material to pack the bones. Dunmuthy Hills. Finished the job by 3 P.M. and left instructions to ship by Express. Then visited the UPR Smelter where I learned little because no one was present to take me through the very large plant. Sep. 20-99 Wednesday 9 a.m. 8:30 a.m. Took the Colorado Northern train in Manitou. At 7.30 P.M. the train for Pikes Peak. On the way up I became so enthused over the scenery that I concluded to stay over night. From Manitou one cannot see Pikes Peak which lustre of the first high tints. Ones impression is that these
