Forgot canteens and went back to Rapid, -then S and into park from Itermose Rd. Across Weedles highway, then to Deadwood & Lead, down Spezzfish Canyon - which is impressive, and on to Devils Tower. Picked site-then to tower, met Thorsen-local Ranger, very nice. Got R.T. Petersons western birds at bargain price. Pitched tarp-and it rained. Bunch of deadwood kids pulled in next to us and made zlot of noise. Restaurant wouldn't take us so made own dinner.
