"I slipped two more dogs and we started. When within 50 yards I ran ahead with the camera, got two photos of Chin as he turned on the dogs from about 50 feet. As I ran along with Chin I noticed a peculiar thing, — he was skirting with his front feet! — I have never seen this mentioned in any of my reading. With only one exposure left while I am caring for a famiile bear toward me, I thought it time to shout. I ran back to ledge grasped my 3-3 and dropped Chin. My big ring and the blacks stayed right with him to the last. The Co-Bevoyan dog came back. Hu tells me that my fup "Bill-ah-ga-do," is one of the best bear dogs he has ever seen. I think so much of Chin that I did not dare to let him loose for fear that he might be injured."
