near the cairn. I am fortunate as we has ever been along this coast before Friday, it is not at all like it is mapped. We have made at least 30 miles, 7 1/2 hours at 4 an hour. Following fresh bear tracks turned our dogs on considerably. By the map this distance takes us over the whole whole eastern side of the island. We have been going about true east all day and have not really turned south at all. Tomorrow- will reveal much. I may send two of the boys to Cape South West from here.
