Monday April 24 34 th day West side Hassel Sound Clear above. Blowing and drifting. Wind N.W. 3. Bar 29.76 9th 40th P.M. This is one of the days when a man thinks strongly of the comforts of home. We left- Three Bear camp at 11:50 this morning hoping that wind and drift would subside in a few hours but in this we were disappointed. It steadily increased, on the contrary, giving us the first real taste of bad weather and consequent discomfort- that we have had on the trip.
