Tuesday, April 4, 1916 14th day The Eskimos think we are at Bjornesundet. We are certain we are island and have made at least 50 miles keeping the dogs going for 12 hours. At 8 this evening when we had about given my men and nurse open, and were riding our own sledges holding our ropes in our hands, facing a light breeze at 4 below zero. E. told all to righted a bear and away we went forgetting all about the cold. The hunt has been the same as the one we tried yesterday. Acted exactly like her and had the same mix up with the dogs. As my traces were tangled I could not slip so far into the mess as I did yesterday. The dogs would have undoubtedly killed her if the boys had cut. E. both de club tried his automatic revolver and was firing it.
