March 6 continued There is good map here but I cannot get it, possibly at Pitenberk. Have not seen white man since leaving Sud Myernario's. The store keeper here and the one at Jherasab are brothers, siblings on mother's side of Knud Resmussen. March 7th, Left Piterbalk at 6 Today. Reached Atar at 4. Dog drivers demand more pay than it is right to take me over land to Pitenberk so I shall stay here tonight & go to Jakobsborn tomorrow with two other men. This may save a day. Fine weather but warm, March 8- Left Ator before dawn. Found open chots after a few miles, and were forced to cross over hills to Jakobshorn, where we arrived at ten in the evening. Broke one sledge and had very hard work. Weather perfect.
