May 16th Friday Left Camp at 9-50 arriving at Cache camp at 12-40. Stopped twice to kill rabbits. Cache is about 6 miles this side of Dallas Bay. Left cache at 12-40 Summit Gorge 1-05 Arrived at Reussalier Bay at 4-30 well inside Lake Russell. Left 4-45- Arrived three quarters way across Big Bay at 8-30 Lack of alcohol from two small cans fright. Ten hours Friday at about 2'1/2 an hour. Continuous hard going through soft snow- Orlelio wounded his seals Friday, lost them both. 2 shot 2 rabbits. Mined a third at 20 yards? Have come to conclusion that Orlelio is right.
