May 10th, 1915 Rensselaer Harbor Back at the old camp, and will make another try for records tomorrow. Wounded four seals today. Blood all over the margins of the holes; lost tem all. Sammie got h- live just in time to grab one by the tail with his teeth and hands but he was not strong enough to hold him. Tracked a bear to a seal igloo where he had killed a seal and eaten it. The crowd looked as if he had his whole family with him, blood, bones, and vis-à-vis meat everywhere. Saw many tracks near no fresh ones. Sammie did some awful clewing today. One seal remained to long on the ice that Sammie got up and looked at him. Just then my dogs struck him. The traces caught in the heels of the legs and he landed on
