in the bay, a small cairn about two feet high. Followed near tracks with the bay but finally gave them up. I have killed three seals. Have fed one to dogs and will leave two there in cache for return trip. I have just returned from a cairn built by Dr. Kane on the sloping hill side about 50 feet above the ice foot just below the point of the cape going north from Store Bay. There also found a seal's found a breast seal in stiff paper "All Well, Kane Aug 1853. Lamont photographed me and Dr. him standing at cairn. As sun and I came at night so I gave him 1/20 on 11; he due 50-11. Real meat brought - all that we can build.
