Three Rocks. 50 paces long, 40 broad, and 30 feet high. Four walls of granite blocks with wooden roof. Magnetic observatory adjoining was of stone, 10 feet square, wooden floor, roof, and copper fire grate. On Oct. 10th the steaming smuggler for dog team. No trouble until he came to Cape William Word where he found ice breaking up over and ledges broke through. Near W.S. Gary's party near Cape William Word. Report. Left self Sept. 20 at 1 o clock. Arrived at Coffee Large at 8. Travelled alternately on land and sea ice On 24 encamped at Chimney Rock. South of Cape Russell. On 25 reached cairn at Cape Russell On 26 th discovered a deep gorge "Dunny Large" Remains of Eskimo huts. On 28th Reached Cache II
