Boat party left me 29th Orders to haul brig to the Southward and Eastward w/ a safe berth. In less than 24 hours left boat and pushed forward on sledge. Cliffs measured 1400 feet to crest of plateau. Cliffs of "fibular magnesian limestone" talus at angle between 38 and 45 degrees. We left 1st entered another small bay (Bancroft Bay) "a glacier blocked our way across it" "a succession of terraces rising with symmetrical regularity, took themselves to long parallel lines in the distance. Found here 7 skeletons of much ag. crossed glacier. Mean elevation of want 1200 feet. In 5 days they were 40 miles from India. We left 5th at Bancroft Dallas Bay Here a large river 3/4 mile
