Journal Aug 19, 1962, Drawn River, Alaska; Very chilly this morning with a strong wind from the east. Checked traps early and did some initial straightening up of the gear. Picked up traps about 1500 and started taking down everything except the tent. Spotted float-plane about 1630 coming in. It landed at the fish camp and then took off and went back to Barrow. We're stuck here for the night, at least! Aug 20, 1962, Drawn River, Alaska; Float plane arrived about 0930; we were back in Barrow by 1030. Aired hard for about 20 minutes at 0600. Aug 20, 1962, Pt. Barrow, Alaska; Times attempted and made the minor plans for Fairbanks with Sullivan. Maybe, we hope, he made the rest of his connections down. We stopped the Schulte experiment on Carex & Eriophorum - Congestifolium and the fertilized vs control grass experiment. Finished the colony work after helping Dave process some blood taken from a dying animal and [illegible] a Carex & E. congestifolium animals. Aug 21, 1962, Pt. Barrow, Alaska; Worked on colony until Dave arrived at 1030. He was supposed to go to the Juneau meeting on the R4-D. He went over the work to be done in the colony until lunch. I was able to finish only the first phases of the reamping of the colonies. They need to be set up for
