Langjila sp. July 10, 1962, East of Doswell, St. Barrow; A lone caribou roaming staying at least three hundred yards away at all times. August 2, 1962. Between St. Barrow and Lytett, Wainwright; 2-3 hundred caribou seen in groups of 3-10 and singly almost the entire distance. August 12, 1962, Between ARC and Lake Delta; The course followed by the pilot passed a couple hundred in small groups. August 19, 1962, Grave River, Alaska; Caribou are on both sides of the river. One group came within a hundred feet, but since they have not been able to get with two hundred yards. Do not seem to be moving anywhere in particular except back and forth across the river.
