11 June 1962 Salt lagoon #1 St. Barrow, Alaska.
♂&♀ undergoing a type 3 scuffle with wing flapping.
Male attempted to mount the female. Just as he was atop,
The female flew away. The male then went through the display
Pattern of flying high in the air (50 ft.) and gliding down
while singing
June 12 at lines I & II, St. Barrow; a pair seen at each
line, occasionally one would display the gliding actions.
Gas line crossing Beach Ridge, Pt. B., ♂ chased female,
mounted momentarily and suddenly left her to chase
an intruding male Longspur.
June 14. Central Marsh, St. Barrow. A pair seen, the ♂ displaying
occasionally
June 15. Gas line crosses Beach Ridge. Nest & 5 eggs found by
Hines close to our line traps.
June 17, 1962, Voth Area proper, St. Barrow; nest found with 6 eggs
and marked.
June 20, 1962. Trap line IX, 10.0, [illegible] St. Barrow, nest found
with 6 eggs; Maker informed and it was marked.
June 23, 1962 Trap line IX, 10.0 - Nest still only has 6 intact eggs
Two drums nearest Fresh Water Lake Road jarrests found,
one with 3 eggs and the other with 4. Both were
marked with the orange [illegible] stakes.
