Nyctea scandiaca) July 18, Line IX, St. Barrow, Alaska; Owl seen diving at a gasserine bird or the chick of said bird. The Owl dived at a certain spot but a bird which flew like a passerine (undulating) shot straight up. The owl paused a moment at this spot & then flew to another spot 50 yards further from me and set down. August 2, 1962; Lytt, Weinwright; Two seen near our triplane. A man (Eskimo) working at Lytt claims to have found nestlings in the area. Sullivan was checking this. August 19, 1962 Draw River, One seen in area.
