Stercorarius parasiticus June 19, 1962, just behind ARL (South), Pt. Barrow; A pair seen preying together over nearby area. One was in the dark phase, (gray-black), and the other was the black with the white eye markings, or light phase. Neither one picked up a barring in the time I watched June 20, 1962, Trap Line T., Pt. Barrow; one seen sitting near line, flying after we arrived and not return. July 1, 1962, Yoth Area on east side of Yoth Creek, Pt. Barrow; an individual seen cruising over flat area at about 1830. July 2, 1962, Central Marsh, Pt. Barrow; Four seen all toll through a range of a half-mile. July 4, 1962, Central Marsh, Pt. Barrow; Several seen in a group of about 10 mixed with long-tailed jaegers July 7, Oksipe Slough & area immediately surrounding, Pt. Barrow; Several seen on ground and in air with longtail jaegers July 14, 1962, South end of Petaw Lake, Alaska; A pair were seen commonly together but as many as four were seen in a group. Dark & light phases were evident. Were usually over the water, but occasionally crossed the ground next to the lake, hunting. August 19, 1962, Snow River; A pair seen just behind & once directly in front of our tent.
