June 12, 1962. Central marsh, Pt. Barrow, 8-12 individuals
seen settling and flying. Also one melanistic
June 14, 1962. Central marsh, Pt. Barrow, one individual winging northwest
June 15. Just south of fresh water lake and East of gas line; one was seated
on a high (3') tuft of ground. Hines said it was not in a
nesting pose. It flew after about 30 seconds.
June 16. Voth Area, Pt. Barrow; I seen on a high mound in a
position in which may be brooding. Did not have chance to check.
June 17, ΒΌ mi south of ARL between fresh water lake and row of barrels to the
west of the lake, Pt. Barrow; One individual flying south about 20 ft.
above ground turned as if it had seen something on the ground, then
flew me.
June 28, [illegible] Northern part of Upper Mead's
Lake, Pt. Barrow; I have seen one flying over area evidently
preying.
June 24, Trapline IV, Central marsh; one individual seen preying on
area about 15 feet above ground.
July 2, 1962, Central Marsh, Pt. Barrow; Five individuals seen
in a group with one parasite pigeon.
