Phalacrocorax fulicarius
July 4, 1962, central marsh, Pt. Barrow; A male killed by me
for a specimen; also the phalacrocorax are grouping in the
marsh. Observed a flock of about 25 in a pond.
July 7, 1962, Ookpik Slough & immediate area; Pt. Barrow;
Flocks and individual birds still nesting seen feeding,
and on water in good size numbers.
July 9, Southern end of Lake Tikchovik, Barrow, Alaska; Several
flocks totaling approximately 500, all molting.
July 19, 1962, Voth Area, Pt. Barrow; Two, sometimes Three
in the air constantly peeping.
Aug 17, 1962, Drake River, Alaska; Small flocks on the
ponds a couple miles off the river. Were in winter
plumage.
Aug 24, 1962, Pt. Barrow, Alaska; Large flocks & on ponds
(25-40)
totaling 2-300 on the point. All in winter plumage.
