Others would be heard displaying in adjacent areas. On Gasoline ridge 2 78° flew side by side, probably on the fringes of their territory. No actual defense of territory was attempted. 12 June. Barrow, Alaska A male seen near trap lines III A, B circling another two miles away. 13 June Barrow, Alaska. a group of 5 were circling low to the ground near Gasoline Ridge 14 June Barrow, Alaska Individuals sighted occasionally by Vath Area and Britton's Area 15 June Wainwright, Alaska Two were seen, one displaying near the call and low flight. 17 June. Barrow, Alaska Several males are encountered in trip from Beach Ridge to Gasoline Ridge. 18 June Barrow, Alaska A pedestal nest with 4 eggs located south of line I about 20 yards.
