Journal
4 Aug. got in last night. Enjoyed his trip immensely. Had
snow flurry about 2000 but still about 40°F
outside. Logston due to leave for Pit Point
tomorrow morning.
5 August Barrow, Alaska
Left the new breakfast house from 06:30 to 07:30, I made
a "supreme" effort to get there by 06:45 and he writing
some notes by 07:00. It may never happen again. Holland
and I started the colony by 08:00 and finished by 09:30.
I looked at some slide of a burning stomach contents
that had been of one species of forage. I was wondering if
it were possible to pick up any gross differences between
types, after lunch I worked the metabolic cages through in
an hour and returned to Dane's lab to help him run
through blood sugars. Logston & Stanley left for Pit Point
by 09:00. Stanley should return tonight if possible. We
worked on the blood until dinner and attended a seminar
about radiation (solar) given by Bruce Liske. Overcast
day with a slight drizzle and some fog around the airport
until late in the afternoon. Hank is running the line
plot.
6 August Barrow, Alaska
Worked on the animal colony until 18:00 alone. Holland went
to Kruaik with Dolonce for the morning. At 18:00 I
picked up Hank at the line plot. Upon returning I
acquired some wood shavings from the shop. The
