Once again of the situation. One receptacle was found along
with a couple of Snapper juveniles. During the night,
light showers occurred. No catch, except for a few
Snappers, was recorded all night & the next morning.

Barrow, Alaska
Steve Logston, Rex Pieper & Glenn Stanley arrived at
Beach Ridge about 1030 to pick me up. I checked to
see how Steve Holland was doing and found him doing fine.
The plumbing is finished in the animal house. After lunch,
we worked the metabolic cages over and devised a better
feeding trough for the powder experiment. It has been raining
intermittently and the wind is from the west. Hank & Dave
left for Nome after lunch. After dinner, Logston, Stanley
& I brought in 4 live traps & checked 2 more.
27 July
Barrow, Alaska
Light showers continued all morning with a west
wind blowing all day. Rain stopped in the late afternoon
and a fog came in after dinner (1800). Holland and I
worked the routine data through for the colony until
about 1100. Wrote notes until lunch. Won't be able to
fly to Pitmegea today; No plane, no pilot. Dave returned
today from Nome. Hank was left at Cape Thompson. Metabolic
cages and the special powder diet animal were processed
after lunch. Worked on data sheets and checked our
camping equipment for the Pitmegea. After dinner, Logston
& I pulled in lines XIII & XIV. Fertilizer plot very mushy.
Solenmings caught.
