1963 24 July Journal has a door cut in it for the loosening to curl into, but will still allow freeze wire to fall through. We worked on the metabolic cages until I left at 1500 to set lines XIII & XIV w/Lagston. Steve Holland [illegible] came along to clip grass for the next experiment. It has been foggy off and on with a beautiful night arriving. Tonight, there is no wind, no fog, and a bright sun. Central Marsh is very soft as is the road to the fieldtraps plot. I put up a gauge after dinner while H.E.C. & Steve went to check lines [illegible] & live traps. 25 July Barrow, Alaska Wind is blowing from the south for the first time this summer. Clear, warm day, averaging about 68°F all day. Holland and I weighed animals today along with routine data. After lunch, the metabolic cages were processed. Still having trouble changing an animal to powder food. H.E.C. says the Pittmangea flight is on. He is leaving tomorrow for Nome on the R-4D and then to Cape Thompson. I will leave the 27th for the Pittmangea, drop the equipment, and go pick up Hank. About 1500 Holland & I cleaned up done extra animal cages that I put out in back of Aerology and placed them by the old animal house. Hank has one more day of live-trapping so I told him he could finish the last night since he has so much else to do. This South wind is bringing clouds. At 2100, H.E.C. & I went to the line plot for a check and to meet me
