Journal 15 June Barrow, Alaska After dinner I cleaned out one side of the "back porch" Z airology. I also weighed the most recent lemmings taken and wrote a data sheet on each animal. The new animal colony is scheduled for use by Monday. 16 June Barrow, Alaska After a comparatively late start I watered and fed the lemmings. One lemming was taken in the live traps. The 10 traps were moved further NE about 209ds. Upon returning the new lemming was weighed and set up in the temporary colony the morning weather was mild with a slight breeze. Continued through the day until about 1900 when it cooled off. Fog rolled in about 2130. I worked on materials for the new colony until about 1500 when I checked the live traps once more. None was caught in the live traps but one bad was taken by hand. For the first time this morning no lemmings died in the colony, the temperature in the colony was fairly constant. At 1750, the lemming project people had dinner at the Mullens. After the movie I wrote notes.
