D. Stevens 3 1963 Journal 11 June 1963 mile was still possible. Earlier, about 1100, Kenny Towrak brought in 10 live Lemmings from the Gravel Pit. These were gut in separate cages w/the food & water on the backgoring airology. Temperature after lunch was down to 28°C. This temp. stayed about the same through the rest of the afternoon into the evening. Nothing happened after dinner except a movie. 12 June Barrow, Alaska After breakfast, Steve & I cleaned off the tables & Cabinets in airology until 0900. Frank and Dick left before 0900 to look at builds a census Frank's plot on Beach ridge - Dane came in just after their departure & recruited Steve and me to aid in blood sampling a little later in the morning. At 1000 the three of us left for the Barrel area. No lemmings were found until we uncovered 2 in the line 3 barrels parallel to Fresh water Lake road. Returned to camp about 1100 and passed on to the "little freeway" toward Voth's area. We entered the area between Fairly lagoons & the "Little Freeway" about 14 mi. from the ocean & searched for lemmings. Six were taken for blood samples; one was killed before a sample could be taken.
