5-14-29 Cassia ligustrina Shrub in Valley May dec 5-7-29 has flo like the one at May flow 5-6-29. Shrub slightly north has seed pods. Seed like 5-6-29 4-29-29 mist hunters and pod the same except that some are longer to 4 in. Seeds lie across the pod. In gro holes up at night. 5-14-29 Plants resembling iris like those at May flow 5-6-29. St Pauls Clayd Fr L-20 to 3 ft x 1/2 in head (estimated) Flatella very likely but stiffer by thickened central portion & mostly longer. Fl borne on inside edge. Fr drooping on 2 flattened pedicels which issue from among the withered offing. Fl remains noted 5-6-29. Fru capsule with thick leathery walls 2 1/4 in x 3/4 in green (at this time) with bananers corby wobbing from cracks or lots. Strongly 3-lifted egg-like with a de- spiraled vein. Seeds on parietal placenta along 7+ in 1/2 indiam, attached at base and ridge by longitudinally. The * Seed at this time) light green, with a small whitish bulbous pseudo-g at base which continues as a fine up one side & terminates at apex enlarged to form small rounded protrusion. Embryo at this upper point. Seed muc also overlapping of not definitely in how much 2 lines. Withered floral remains (for B brocts) have faint pleasant odor. 6-12-29 Plant, no flor fr in house at The Pine. H.H. says it is an iris like an iris." See Marica Carulea Niss S.C.H 1907
