#169 L.H. 5-13-29 Cerellia Fls young for Devonshire Marsh. Leaves long white hairs on back, very noticeable on young leaves. Petioles & petioles also sparsely hairy. #191 R.B.N. 5-13-29 Devonshire Marsh 20 flor fs (Plants seen also 4-1-29) 2 pair collected 12in high, but remembered as somewhat higher, perhaps 2 ft. St purple, strongly angled, bispid with at first white hairs from enlarged bases. Lvs spp. ovate to lanceolate, to 3½ x 1½ in. Petioles ¾ in., acute, 3 nerved (the lateral nerves not strong often oblique) & somewhat pointed at base. Marginally decurrent on petioles. Serr-toothed, rough hairy both sides. Not uncommon on north side of marsh near west end. Not Halimurga parviflora Cav. p 402 v just not Phryma leptostachya p 358 or Prunus laeppulacea, Pers p 313 tho this last seems most prob (not much like it). Note 11-22-29 Why not V. seabra Vill. p 310 5-7-29? Callierpa americana Lp 319 BMJCP 683. Page Marsh 20 flor fs. Only young friv collected. Lvs broad in shape, glandular dotted both sides, above stubbly & soft pubescent hairs mostly straight but some esp on veins curled, beneath too white. Sometimes with a hairy pubescence as on petioles v young at. Lvs rather more pointed at base than ill shows v not as pointed at apex.
