4-17-29 Milia capitata, Dougl. B.M.G.C.P.66 Agri. Ex. Anthers & filaments blue. The 3-petaled stigma shows only as corolla falls. Calyx striated with broad green stripes in centre of each lobe. Dust. white mostly at bases of calices but calyx itself glabrous. Fl 2½ in long. and teeth lanceolate as per B not S. achilleaefolia, Bentl. Heads usually fls practically axile, densely globular not flattened tho sometimes the head branches into very short ¾ in dense racemes fls having pedicels of 2 mm. 4-17-29 Arctic Asters Arceabidji? Berg. B.M.G.C.P. 777. Agri. Ex. Rays white or nearly so, pale yellow at base, pale lavender outside. Disk bluish lavender. Styles white. Stigmas, pollen white. Anthers darker than disk fls. Disk fls gland-pubescent on outside corolla stigmata Daffus scales some achieve top three on outside as long as disk fls. The inner achene scales not so well developed or perhaps achieve not maturing. Inner bracts much longer than duts with broad hyaline tips. ## 4-17-29 Centaurea microbleta" labeled Agri. Ex (see earlier). Pappeus scales are not equal at this stage (fl.) the outer achene scales being less than ½ as long as inner, scales graduating in length from short outside ones to long inner ones and achene flutes scales filmy. inner ones broadening toward tips. Filaments minutely papillose. Pappeus scales greenish white cf to C. Cyanus, not entire (ciliate or finely laciniate)
