Blade stiff, edges involute so that within short distance of ligule they appear vertic. sharp pointed. Blade flattened out at base is 4 mm wide, the upper (in) side articulate, deeply ridged, the edges lined with soft upward pointing tracts and ridge. Ligule a ring of hairs, which shows an open at joining. Hole & sheaths in front. Sheath margins ligulate.
