root stocks creeping. Large new
rosy red buds appearing at
side roots clumps. 2-2 1/2 ft single
stiffly upright Culm erecta. Sheaths
overlapping 1/4 at top 1/2-1in from
at ligule of lf to ligule of next.
Blade stiff, edges involute so that
within short distance of ligule they
appear vertic. sharp pointed. Blade
flattened out at base is 4 mm wide, the
upper (in) side articulate, deeply
ridged, the edges lined with soft
upward pointing tracts and
ridge.
Ligule a ring of hairs, which
shows an open at joining.
Hole & sheaths in front. Sheath
margins ligulate.
