3-21-29 Pedilanthus tithymaloides, Port 2214 v B.M] C.P. 454. Fl. Age: St. P. west office. Mid-rib very distinctly volarly keeled (compared with P. laetifolius growing nearby) but not noticeably dentate. Indented Hottled white (reddish blotches may be disease). Envolucres in dense heads, bright red. Each involucere 1/2 in long; dentation ciliate on some parts of margin. Some panthers ciliate 3-21-24 "Dombeya Wallichii = Pink Bell Madagascar." Labeled. Age: St. Open space 20 east of dwelling. Fl. young No. See 7/5-7/28/1927 and B.M] C.P. 448 Fl. at axillary, unspend on long peduncle Lvs 7-veined, very heart shaped, slight- ly 3-lobed, pubescent, bronze color. (For young growth) Pedicels, sepals v capsule densely, rusty stellate pubescent. Capsule 1/2 in. high. 5-angled loculicidally delinquent into 5 valves. Cells seem 2-celled or possibly in some cells more than 2. Inflorescence unspend not a dense head? Sluit perhaps 5 ft high. 3-21-29 Achnina grandiflora, F. Meyer p 295 v B.M] C.P. 605. Hedge in front of King Edward Hospital. Fl. Style short 2mm. Lint of corolla thus: Tube hairy inside. Pollen white, smooth adhesion, amounts spherical (84x) Corolla lobes overlaps clockwise in bud with the straighter edge outside.
