2mm long x almost 1 mm wide its edge tightly folded back (inward) forming narrow margin. Palea white with bright green line on each edge at fold. Back (outside) scruffy like the scale lemma but scale linear. All flo perfect. Outlets purple. Infl decompound. Plicae very delicate. If less definite division bet. sheath & blade than most genus iro, the hyaline ligule being continuation of edge of sheath up onto blade (free for 2mm or there) then down on other side inside edge f sheath. 5-14-29 Middle Rd Pojet. #136 &.H. #137 N.Y.B.G. Standard 3/4 in broad, auricled at base of blade, region where blade joins Claw has a sort f loose lining with small fold projecting upward on each aide [mid vein] & smaller less distinct folds project downward, folds also at auricles. Wings free as to Claw & Blade, adnate to back only at point bet. Claw & blade. Keel bent upward at it angle edges about the angle finely delicate. Style being in line or inside & somewhat 20 fn short distance outside. Stigma rounded at tip f style with slight projection on in side. *these folds f auricles embrace the free stamina so that it pulls IB with the standard. Red wart on edges (esp evident in the unique feds) Every seems to have 3-4 ovules.
