1-24-29 Badx & Wood Haven, shrub ? to 5 ft. & rose pp. (in one case) 9/8 x 4 3/4 in. Petals in 2 forts to oval rounded & current at base, sheeply valently acuminate at apex almost entire, dark s? green above, light below (with each dot 20x) beneath, glab- rous except for very abfist pubescence or veins beneath. Flowering raceme 4-5 in long each fl. with pedicel & 1/4 in subtended by very small bracts. Calyx very small red with 5 acute lobes, no more than 3/8 in overall. Corolla bright red, slender tube 1 in long enlarging somewhat above middle, limbs 2 medium, 2 flutes about & 3/8 in deep, the upper being narrower shallowly divided than the other 3 which are equal. Stamens 2, included, one with very short filaments inserted on upper part of tube anteriorly with two staminodes posteriorly (in several fls. three stamodes were well devel- ped stamen & but one in anthecisac only). Style slender about as long as tube. Ovary part superior but difficult to see at this stage. Inside of Corolla glandular paposeccat (stalked glands) giving crystal-line effect. Color shape of ft individed fl (except for narrow under Corolla tube) much like fls. Rusellia equisetifolia Could this be B.M. C.P. # 902 Odontonema strictum, Kunze (Notus s. 68 H & 74 F?) 2-14-29 "Graptoleylum pictum"; Biff. Agas Station but R questions this
