Honeydole green above (but sometimes noted with more usual leaf-green shade) v gay green beneath under the dark parts. X ? #163 NY/24. B.M.G.P.738 2-21-29 Monodora Charantia L. Fl. Waste land eastern part of Agri. Stat. Vine twiling. St 5 angled, slender, lovely pubescent. Total. pedicels 3/4 in. to 1 3/4 in long x 2 in wide Caudate orbicular deeply 3 lobed, with lateral lobe often divided again making 5. Margins sinuate, white apiculato pointed. L.f. pubescent above & below. Tendrils simple, growing not in axel of l.f. but at side of base of petiole where stipule might be expected (but only one tendril for each l.f.) Monodinae? Other entire, fork back at base of pedicelle. 3-florary. Stamen [sample, 20 days] samples separate, anthers loope in squares. Fl corolla yellow, 1/2 in across rotate 5 lobed, stigma 3 parted with head, rolled yellow lobes, base of styles shows what may be stamens, in one 1-pointed & two 2-pointed tiny projections 2-21-29 Diplotaxis muralis DC. p.152 Fls fr.
