Filred, long beaked; infloscot; Calyx not uniformly clothed with reddish long hairs (SVH) nor as stiffy as in Bon 992 still for P. asplenifolia; Corolla lower lip glabrous. St + infl 3-9cm overall. St ± prostrate, not in ascending st naked, but bracts rather leaf-like. St with 2 lines & short hairs (Bon). Calyx with similar slint, articulate, ± cusp'd, hairs esp on nerves (Plant not as nearly glabrous as Coste seems to indicate) Calyx fl ± 9mm long overall
& stick ± 3 mmis of tip (Calyx larger in young yr.) Calyx not markedly narrowed at base. Corolla 2cm long. Upper lip dark rose; lower lip lighter on upper surface & still lighter on lower surface. Upper lip rather abruptly beaked (so that looks somewhat like a bird's head). Beaks 3-3½ mm. upper lip often tinted to one side. Flos 2-5. Pedicels 10 mm or less (the upper ones now in fl certainly no longer than calyx. The 2 longer filaments bearded on upper half. × Three spec (but 945) have a pair of opp. hairs very near the base

S. aspera L. asp.bryoides Gaudin SVH 331. Fl.vadv. fl. Engadine. Very like ill (Coste) & (Bon). Calyx free. Petals white at tips, pale yellow at base with darker yellow dots in middle region, 7 x 3 mm, abruptly narrowed to short claw. Cutus orange yellow, not reaching to tips of petals (Coste Coste)
