6-24-34 ? Cladrastis lutea Koch BMJCP 413, A507 Fl (Flowers in prime about 9/17) Cult. Val-Mont. Outside dining-room window on north side. Effect simply florv-like Robinia Pseudacacia but still slightly punculate at base and stamens all free. Two pinnae with fls alternate (4 fts on branch collected) fts oval 3 1/2 x 1 3/4 in or larger. The terminal ft very obtuse with cuneate base. Buds found inside the enlarged bases of petioles. Ident as uneasis poss. for cult. plant. A tree near entrance to ponterelle (which P. has long wondered about) which has not blossomed) seems to be this same C. lutea Koch = C. tinctoria Raf = Virgilia lutea Mielx BMJCP [8-5-34 Fl. Felling without refining change pos 60x10 cm. Every year it's got unders (to accommodate growing other breeds). the rest (at either both ends) remaining about 2 mm wide & making a healthy or at least effect] 6-24-34 ? Calycanthus floridus L. BMJCP 292, A407 Fl. Cliff Dr. Reeds' lawn & so. look glorious above but are rough to touch and (20x) furnished with very short, stiff, curved-appressed hairs pointing toward tips of lf. lf beneath is a lighter, yellower green, looks glabrous but is soft to touch and (20x) furnished with blunt hairs. (not "densely" pubescent BMJCP) has broadly acute. Fls fully 2 in across, mottled than brown, dark.
