A slender plant to 22 inches high. } vs 2mm a slightly less. Our capsules scales are def brown and oblate (contr to Cate's here for C refracta.) Capsules 15-22 mm (with sometimes a very short one sessile near base of Perigynia) by about 3mm wide. Scales purple-brown 2mm long. thelowesth/sometimes all} often at apex but in many the green mid nerve extends into an arrow wing like to cts 1mm long). Perigynia (now) 4mm overall green except the purple-brown mouth and a few dots/stinges visible suggest they may be purple brown all over when ripe; rough on the 2 edges near the top (not "font autous" Bon) Seem only pars esp considering distribution [8-6-34 young fr. North side] Dent de Jamais. P Braine as 6-8-34. Young oblongs evident} 6-8-34 Carex praecox Jacq (see 4-30-34) Unisexual fr. Coux->Somelaux, exact place not remembered. Seems same as 4-30-34. At 30cm high. Perigynia 5mm long. Nutlet has a def little to cone at top.
