6-2-34 Cephaloline lutea Reich. B.M.J.C.P.197,S.W.II. 61. FL.Cult: Drage garden. Pearl robin long x 4 mm wide, sheathing with a white & wide scarious margin at the base. If thickish, greenish, ridged on both sides. The grey many st. lvs similar but shorter give the starry dishered look. Infl. dense raceme. But note that flowering groups about 3 or 4 cels. fl subtended by a papery bract whose dark mid veins remind the finely articulate tip (Poss a similar bract subtends the group. Can't be sure.) as a result of this grouping fls in all the dif stages of bud, full-flower and seithering are found the entire length grass. Perianth bright yellow with green rib outside. Divisions separate to very near base, wide spread ing, the lower one more widely separated from the rest than they are from each other. (This with the fact that stamens & style are strongly de- flexed make of the fls slightly zygomorph.) Ext. div. 25 x 5 mm; int div somewhat wider. The 3 upper filaments only 1/2 as long as the others v their anthers only 1/2 as large as the others but all anthers bear pollen. Base of filaments as in Cephaloid. Pedicels articulated near base. Perianth 4 merous. Ovules 2 in each cell. Anthers dorsifixed, versatile, intrae. [8-5-34 Fl & fr. Same plant as 6-2-34. Fr almost spherical 13 mm diam. Deels black, sharp cornered 1-2 in each cell. Juice & unique pods stains papura bright yellow.
