5-25-34 Carex muiresii I. Cote III 498, Bon 332, 4 226, SVKI 104 (See BVH 511 and II # 467-8 in which synonyms differ from SVKI) Adv. ft. v. ft. Villeneuve meade near end Dupf + 3cm high I several racile spikes, Duff like ill (Cote), in f. like ill(II). In either stage spikes as long or longer than internode [hence not C. dimula Sabet (II)]. Each spike contains about 3 (the terminal spike more) & flower 1/2 ft. above tips. Stems clumps. Outer sheaths now reduced to dull dark brown fibers. Inner sheaths pale dried green color slightly pinkish but not "purpurest". Lvs + 3mm St. slightly pronged only toward tip; plainly 3-angled but the sides rounded convex (not concave as in C. fulva) and ribbed. St + 1/2 mm ona side for the upper 1/4 of sheath & sharp edges; very acuminate. Sts 12-15 in high. Ligule from a high arch on lf blade (certainly no twister than long) and in from the ligule is higher than "la naissance du limbe"(Cote) but it is not truncaterina st. line as deae(Cote) but often is curvatura curr or + obliquely (never ). Beasts di perigynia awl(Cote) Beasts light brown with green mid rib. Perigynia thickened at base when ripe may be spongy. Perigynia simu long, smooth, shining styles 2.
