8-5-34? Hieracium alpinum L. Cate II. 465 SVKI 744. (Note H.—All. Box 194 seems to differ in detail.) Fl v young fr. Engadine. Leaves long in SVK! Europeachene is 3½ mm long; lower basal rosette v st naked & with 1 bract-like if near top; hr have very short gland-hpelled hairs (20X) as well as long white aboggy hairs (sug- gesting those on H. villosum). Nectaries? 2573; 2578 & 2580 seem possible. St 8½ cm high, with short white (staccely stary) hairs, long aboggy hairs black at the base and very few gland-hairs. Invol well no starry hairs but with short gland-leaves under the aboggy grey hairs. Invol 14 mm high. Open head & cindian. The rays have yellowish hairs on the back (full length of Rales) but no hairs on the edges of the teeth. (Query will this meet the descg "brevimpart" v "ciliées"?) Style of same yellow as rays.
