8-24-33 Georgonera hispanica L. (see 7-18-33) Fly fr not developing. Edge of field better than Kranzette v Noelle. St 3 ft high branched near base v these branches several branched again towards tip. Strong lfy, the lower lvs linear, to 10cm wide, the midnerve show ing plainly light abov & somewhat beaked beneath; the upper lvs broadened & clasping below with a narrow, elongated, often strongly ruffled tip. Pappus dingy. Note that base of st shows already re mains of old lvs (evidently S. austriaca should be still more so).
Other plants of similar aspect casually observed near Bouveret may have been this or other species.
[Note: The disturbing suspicion arises that this may be Tragopogon pratensis!, but frs (as far as can be judged) seem likely to be heakless. And more like Ontellii T. thurei & S. Divisi tracts 8]
