8-18-33 Ampelopsis
perhaps. brevifaldunculata Koehne var elegans.
Barley BMJCP 479. Fl. Dr. Renold's wall. St bright pink
lvs bright green + blotched white or shape quite
suggestive of grape fl. The gen fl shows clearly a
cuplike disc just inside the petals, stamens which
are affixed beneath it.
8-18-33 Rubiaceae
Fl. Cult. Brought by Dr. Renold (pres). Originally from a
forest's bouquet) St (as brought) 10 in, reddish, d-
internodes
smooth (= quite) woody, the alt nodes grooved on
opp sides, making each internode obusely
4-angled. Lvs opp, the stipular line connecting them
expanded into a small triangular stipule which
terminates in a subulate tip of about 1.5mm with
a shorter lateral subulate point on each side and
(at least some times) with another pair of still shorter
similar divisions. Note: this makes only 2 of these
lacinate stipules to each pair of lvs. Lvs (about)
glabrous, entire, ovate, about equally acute at each
cul, very blunt petioled, firm but thin, a clear green,
the lateral veins curving upward at ends and
clearly visible against light which shows no net-
veins. Lvs (only upper ones present) 4½ x 1½ cm. Upper
axils bear short (1cm) peduncle, with cymes of 3 flo.
