8-18-33 Ampelopsis perhaps. brevifaldunculata Koehne var elegans. Barley BMJCP 479. Fl. Dr. Renold's wall. St bright pink lvs bright green + blotched white or shape quite suggestive of grape fl. The gen fl shows clearly a cuplike disc just inside the petals, stamens which are affixed beneath it. 8-18-33 Rubiaceae Fl. Cult. Brought by Dr. Renold (pres). Originally from a forest's bouquet) St (as brought) 10 in, reddish, d- internodes smooth (= quite) woody, the alt nodes grooved on opp sides, making each internode obusely 4-angled. Lvs opp, the stipular line connecting them expanded into a small triangular stipule which terminates in a subulate tip of about 1.5mm with a shorter lateral subulate point on each side and (at least some times) with another pair of still shorter similar divisions. Note: this makes only 2 of these lacinate stipules to each pair of lvs. Lvs (about) glabrous, entire, ovate, about equally acute at each cul, very blunt petioled, firm but thin, a clear green, the lateral veins curving upward at ends and clearly visible against light which shows no net- veins. Lvs (only upper ones present) 4½ x 1½ cm. Upper axils bear short (1cm) peduncle, with cymes of 3 flo.
